I started using magnesium transdermally for chronic pain nearly a decade ago but found the applications leaving much to be desired in terms of both comfort, feel and composition.  Employing my pastry skills, I created a clean, emulsified and whipped magnesium butter that not only provided relief for achy muscles, but also left my skin lustrous and moisturized.  This formulation later became Mag Luxe and created the foundation for Butter & Birch.  

Butter & Birch is a small, family owned business.  Our flagship product, Mag Luxe is small-batch, handcrafted and full of clean, high-quality ingredients.  After a formal culinary education decades ago,  I have been a dedicated,self-directed student of functional health and how our choices and food sources impact that profoundly.  And this was top of mind when developing Mag Luxe.  We felt compelled to make a product that is not only useful, but that also incorporated the perspective with which we approach food- whole, superior raw ingredients in a balanced blend with superior absorption and texture.  Our skin is our largest organ and we embrace the philosophy that if it’s not safe enough to eat, it’s not safe enough to put on your skin.
